"ParaNorman" (2012) is an animated comedy-horror film directed by Sam Fell and Chris Butler, produced by Laika. The story is set in the small town of Blithe Hollow, which has a dark history of witch trials and eerie happenings.

The protagonist, Norman Babcock, is a misunderstood 11-year-old boy with the unique ability to see and communicate with ghosts. He spends his days talking to spirits, much to the annoyance of his family and classmates, who think he's strange and even a little creepy. Norman's gift is mostly seen as a curse, and he's ostracized for it.

"ParaNorman" blends supernatural adventure with themes of acceptance and self-empowerment. Its blend of quirky humor, spooky thrills, and heartfelt moments makes it an enjoyable watch for both kids and adults, and its message encourages empathy and the courage to stand up for what's right, even when it's difficult. The film was praised for its animation, storytelling, and unique blend of humor and horror, making it a standout in the world of stop-motion animation.
